If you live in Cape Town, or are simply just visiting, you will know that the choices of things to do over the weekend are endless. This coming weekend is no different, and in fact, there are two major dance festivals for you to choose from. We thought, in celebration of these two parties that we would take a look at the festivals coming up in the next few weeks.
One of South Africa’s biggest EDM parties is once again hitting the two biggest cities on 24-25 February 2017. Ultra has been bringing the biggest names in dance music to SA shores since 2014. This year, they are creating the experience of the year at Cape Town Stadium with dance gods David Guetta, DJ Snake and Martin Garrix. Dash Berlin, Kshmir and local legend, Black Coffee will also be ripping up the decks! Tickets are going for R850, and R1500 for VIP.
Time to get your stomping boots out again, and head on over to Gordon’s Bay for this trance celebration. Once again creating a space for trance lovers to free their minds, Alien Safari has put together a killer line-up for this. On 24 and 25 February, check out international artists like Dirty Saffi Live from the UK, Dust from Italy, Ritm from Israel and Waio from Germany. Tickets are going for R400 for the weekend pass, and R180 for the shuttle service. Why fit in when you can stand out?
Nelson’s Creek Wine Estate in Paarl will once again be spreading the love with this psychedelic trance experience on 4-5 March 2017. A solidly packed 12-hour stomp festival is in store for party-goers with top DJ’s like Ace Ventura, Rocky, Easy Riders and Animato. Tickets are R250 and gates open at 11 am. A bus will be leaving from Green Point at 11am and will return after the party, these tickets are R100.
We Love Summer is closing up their summer season with one final party on 11-12 March in Kogel Bay. A firm favourite with Cape Tonian party goers, this EDM dance party will be celebrating everything that the gorgeous summer had to offer. For the first time, the festival is offering a chance to Camp over for a full two days of dance. They will also be partnering with Feastival who will be creating the ultimate feast experience. DJ’s like Crazy White Boy, Roland Leesker from Germany and Bantwanas will be keeping the dance floors full for the two days. Early bird tickets are still available for R340, so get yours now.
TRANSylvania SA will be creating the second instalment of this psychedelic experience to take place on 13-14 March. Moreson Plaas Malmesbury will host a built up fortress for trance lovers to experience some deep, dark beats. The line-up includes DJ’s like Chemo Boy, Frozen Ghost, Dirty Motion and Distorted Culture. Tickets are R350 for the weekend and R250 for Sunday only. Visit the island for this out of mind experience.
Strange Loving is taking the dance experience to a whole new level with a three-day pool party festival. Hosted at the Hotel-Resort revellers will be treated to more than just four killer dance floors.
