Vergenoegd is currently hosting their Summer Concerts every first Sunday of the month. This week, 5 March, music fans are in for a treat. Arno Carstens, from Springbok Nude Girls fame, will be performing on the lawns. So, buy a picnic basket from the estate and spend the afternoon sprawled out listening to one of South Africa’s legends crooning to you in the most idyllic setting the Cape can offer!
The estate is a hop, skip and jump out of Cape Town. Sitting just off the N2 as you start driving toward Stellenbosch, the estate offers a full day out. This is the estate famous for its duck parade. This regal affair takes place annually at the Val de Vie Estate and draws socialites, fashionistas and celebrities to its lawns. The event will take place this year, on Saturday 4 March, and the event promises to be as glamorous as the years past. VVIP tickets are R4,000 and includes unlimited champagne. Entry to the garden is R980 and includes a glass of Veuve Clicquot on arrival with a cash bar available.
Shimmy Beach Club will be hosting a gala dinner in tribute to all involved in The Sunflower Fund. This initiative educates and registers stem cell donors and their incredible work has been saving people’s lives for the last 14 years. This year, the dinner will be hosted on 2 March 2017 as a Cuban Nights themed evening. Guests are encouraged to dress in shades of Havana and celebrate the extraordinary work the fund is doing. One of Cape Town’s most exclusive events is taking place this Saturday, 4 March at a secret location in Cape Town. The event is a decadent combination of entertainment, food, music and socializing in the lap of luxury. It is that time of year to paint the city rainbow colours with the Cape Town Pride Mardi Gras. This annual event starts at the Green Point Urban Park in celebration of LGBTQI on Saturday 4 March 2017. This is the main event of the nine-day run-up and promises to put all of the other years to shame. Silent Events SA is hosting the last silent disco of summer on the gorgeous Clifton third beach on Sunday 5 March. Pack a picnic, kick off your shoes, and watch the sun dip into the ocean from Cape Town’s most famous beach. Tickets will be available for R100 on Quicket or R120 there. DJ’s will be mixing some of the finest funky house, reggae and hip hop tracks.
